Software Development Manager Wage -     Job Purpose / Duties & Responsibilities The Software Development Manager will be responsible for the technical and managerial aspects of our software development team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the software development team operates efficiently, meets established goals, and delivers software solutions that contribute to the strategic direction of the company.      Duties & Responsibilities • Leads by example to achieve BG’s Mission/Vision and Core Values.   • Adheres to company polices and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.   • Leadership and Team Management: Lead the software development teams through the project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of software quality. Manage team dynamics, resolve conflicts, and build a collaborative team culture. • Project Oversight: Oversee multiple software development projects, setting timelines, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources efficiently. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development team, promoting best practices in coding, testing, and system design. Participate in critical code reviews and make strategic decisions regarding technology stack and architecture. • Recruitment and Training: Hire, onboard, and train new team members. Identify skill gaps in the team and organize training sessions to enhance competencies. • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization, including product managers, sales/marketing teams, and upper management, to ensure alignment of technical objectives and business goals. • Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set career development goals for team members. • Innovation and Research: Encourage innovation and stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to keep the organization at the forefront of technological advancements. • Quality Assurance: Ensure the implementation of robust testing strategies to maintain software quality and reliability. • Budget Management: Manage the budget allocated for software development projects and make cost-effective decisions regarding tools, technologies, and staffing. • Other duties, projects and initiatives as assigned.   This position will work on-site in the Wichita, Kansas area. Hybrid work is available for local candidates. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is required. • 7-10 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a leadership or management role. • Proficient in multiple programming languages and technologies. • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer). • Familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile and Scrum. • Must be able to demonstrate proficient use with Microsoft Office Suite. • Valid driver’s license required.
