Industrial Engineer

Job Purpose / Duties & Responsibilities
The industrial engineer will facilitate activities within operations to increase production efficiency, maintenance effectiveness, and support safety programs by leading capital projects, developing maintenance SOPs, and maintaining engineering drawings of facilities, productions lines, power distribution, and P&IDs.  Projects can involve processes, equipment, facilities, data management stystems, and product information. 
  
Duties & Responsibilities


Adheres to company polices and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.  
Manage projects – define deliverables, tracking, communications, reporting, return on investment analysis, evaluation of operational need, presentations, capital expense requests, execute capital projects, equipment integration, and project review.
R&D 
o Research and design manufacturing and material handling processes, production lines/equipment, and systems.
o Understand product requirements and help with product design as needed.
o Establish manufacturing standards.
o Ensure project deliverables are incompliance with government regulations.
o Conduct business case analysis to determine feasibility of projects.
Equipment Selection – Vendor selection, provide samples, select equipment, obtain/ review quotes, and collaborate with internal stake holders to meet their needs regarding equipment.
Process Improvement – Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, workflow, throughput, capability, space utilization, and product quality.
Industry Knowledge - Keep knowledge up to date on current manufacturing theories, processes, systems, equipment, and software related to BG Operations.
Engineering Documentation – Create, modify, and control 2D drawings, 3D models, pdf’s, MS Office files, pictures, videos, etc. necessary to ensure successful projects, maintenance programs, and safety programs by making them readily available at the point of use. May include procedures, work instructions, product specifications, preventative maintenance, etc.
Communication
o Interface with various levels of internal and external personnel ranging from production operators to executive leadership. This may be in person, email, phone/text, video conference, etc. 
o Provide downstream resources with the necessary information to perform duties.
o Provide timely responses to applicable technical inquiries.
Data analysis – Pull, scrub, organize, and analyze data that is necessary for a project
Software – Be familiar with or willing to be trained on software that is necessary to perform job duties and maintain department/company standards (examples below):
o AutoCAD & Vault Pro (We use AutoDesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection)
o MS Office
o QuickBase
o Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
o Video Conference – WebEx & MS Teams
o Sage X3 (ERP System) 
Travel – Attend tradeshows, supplier visits, factory acceptance tests, etc. as needed.
Other – Other duties as assigned required to support operations engineering functions.


This position will work on-site in El Dorado, Kansas. Wichita Kansas Community is only a 25 minute drive.

Qualifications
A four-year engineering degree, industrial engineering preferred, mechanical & electrical will be considered. Experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
Preferred 1 year experience using CAD/CAM software.
Knowledge of ERP systems.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification preferred.
